Find your answer, quietly.

Return to the original private message and tap the same invitation again after installation. Do not copy its secret into a search bar, support email, or Play referrer. If Crossed says it is unavailable or expired, ask the sender to create a fresh invitation.

Only the newest invitation remains valid. Each link is one-use and expires after 24 hours. Creating a new one invalidates the previous link. Keep it private: the first eligible account with the valid link can claim it.

Crossed is a two-person ritual, with one active connection per account.

A mutual Crossing forms when two eligible taps reach the server no more than 20 minutes apart. Crossed keeps each person’s unmatched activity private, so a missing mutual Crossing is not evidence about the other person.

Ordinary Crossings release at 21:00 in the connection’s fixed timezone, captured from the inviter’s Android device when the invitation was created. Matches completed after 21:00 wait until the following evening. The app shows a broad time bucket rather than either exact tap time.

Crossed applies a 20-minute eligibility cooldown. When a mutual match completes, the server keeps one shared cooldown anchor instead of the two original tap times, so the server boundary may extend beyond 20 minutes from the earlier person’s tap. At most 12 Cross submissions per person are admitted for a connection day. The visible number is your private submission count, not proof that every submission was eligible or matched.

Live Crossings are available as soon as the connection is active, but work only when both people have independently enabled the choice. At most the first mutual Crossing of a day is eligible, with a 25–45 minute random delay. Android notification permission and the Crossed notification channel must also remain enabled. Push delivery is best effort; check the app for released history.

Open Safety and turn off Lock-screen notifications. Android’s own notification settings and device policy can still override how previews appear.

Keep Crossed as a small shared ritual rather than a measure of attention. You can turn off Live Crossings or lock-screen notifications, agree not to treat missed moments as evidence, or end the connection if the ritual no longer feels good. Crossed is not an emergency, location, wellbeing, or monitoring service.

Use a saved Crossed passkey or the independently stored one-use recovery code. If every signed-in device, passkey, and recovery code is lost, the pseudonymous account may be unrecoverable.

Store it somewhere only you can access. Never send a recovery code, passkey output, invitation fragment, or device PIN to support or another person.

In Crossed, open Safety → Account controls. Choose Export my data for the filtered in-app JSON export, or Delete account and data. The deletion page explains what happens to both sides.

Both disconnect the pair immediately. Ending allows either person to connect again later; blocking prevents those two accounts from reconnecting and does not tell the other person a block occurred.
