The Android app asks you to confirm that you are at least 18 and shows the 30-day calendar-retention note before you continue. This website text is not presented as a separate checkbox.
The operator identity, legal address, governing law, dispute terms, and independent legal review must be completed before these terms are offered publicly.
Eligibility
Crossed is only for people who are at least 18 years old. The current app asks you to confirm this; it does not perform identity or documentary age verification.
You must be legally able to accept these terms and may use Crossed only for yourself. Do not create an account for another person or let another person use your recovery material.
Acceptable use
Use Crossed as a voluntary private ritual. You must not use it to:
- test, pressure, monitor, threaten, shame, or control another person;
- treat a Crossing—or the absence of one—as proof of love, loyalty, attention, location, availability, or wrongdoing;
- share an invitation with someone who has asked not to be contacted;
- harass, stalk, impersonate, exploit, or facilitate abuse;
- probe, scrape, reverse engineer, overload, bypass limits, defeat App Check, or interfere with the service;
- sell, publicly post, or repeatedly redistribute private invitation or recovery links;
- use Crossed for an unlawful purpose or violate another person’s rights.
If Crossed creates pressure or anxiety, turn off Live Crossings, end the connection, block the account, or delete your account. The Safety page explains those choices without judgment.
Connections and invitations
Each account may have one active two-person connection at a time. An invitation is one-use, expires after 24 hours, and a newly created invitation invalidates the older one.
An invitation is a bearer link: the first eligible account with a valid link may claim it. Keep the original link private. Crossed does not promise to identify whether the person claiming it is the recipient you intended.
You may not claim your own invitation. Neither person gains ownership of or access to the other person’s account or private activity.
Service limits and what Crossed does not promise
The matching window is 20 minutes. Crossed applies a per-person eligibility cooldown, and a completed mutual match replaces the two original tap times with one shared cooldown anchor. At most 12 Cross submissions per person are admitted for a connection day. The caller-visible daily number is a private submission count, not proof that every submission was eligible or matched. These are product boundaries, not targets.
Notifications are optional and best effort. A delayed or missing notification does not mean a Crossing did or did not occur; the in-app released history is authoritative. Live Crossings are not instant and activate only after both people independently opt in.
Crossed does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, delivery at an exact time, permanent retention, a match, a response, relationship outcomes, or recovery when every signed-in device, passkey, and recovery code has been lost.
Account and recovery responsibility
Crossed uses a pseudonymous account rather than an email or phone-number login. Protect signed-in devices, passkeys, and the single-use recovery code. Crossed does not receive the device biometric or PIN used by your credential provider.
If you lose all signed-in devices, passkeys, and the recovery code, the account may be unrecoverable. Do not send recovery material to a partner or support channel.
Ending, blocking, or deleting
Either person may end the live connection immediately. Blocking also prevents those accounts from reconnecting. Crossed does not send a dedicated notification saying that someone ended or blocked a connection.
Already released Crossings can remain separately in each person’s private calendar until their original 30-day expiry. Ending a connection does not rewrite the other person’s retained copy.
Deleting your account disconnects both people and starts deletion of your account and retained copy. Provider backups and durable deletion jobs may take longer than the visible in-app action. See Delete account.
Private-beta status
Crossed remains a private-beta build. Its package identity, domain, production service configuration, App Links, passkey relying-party setup, public support process, and web deletion flow are publication gates.
Features may change as privacy, safety, reliability, and accessibility testing continues. Material changes to public terms require a new notice and effective date.
